Íñigo García
Chief Executive Officer
Iñigo Garcia del Cerro Prieto is a Telecommunications Engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, an Economist from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and holds an MBA from IESE Business School, Spain. Mr. García del Cerro has served as CEO – Chief Executive Officer – of UFINET since 2009, having held key positions in the company since its inception in 1998. He has been one of the key players responsible for business development in both Spain and Latin America. The main result of his career at UFINET has been the exponential development of the company’s global growth, with a significant deployment of fiber optics and presence in 17 countries.
Javier Lacasa
Executive President
F. Javier Lacasa is a Telecommunications Engineer from the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) where he graduated “cum laude”, and holds a Master’s degree in Global Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from EADA -Escuela de Alta Dirección y Administración- in Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Lacasa joined UFINET in 1999, initially in Madrid as Project Manager and since 2002 he began his career in Latin America, first as Country Manager of Guatemala, in 2007 as Director for Central America, and since 2009 he has been COO & EVP – Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President, being a key figure for the exponential growth of the business in the region and its geographical expansion, with large fiber optic deployments and operations in 17 countries. In 2024, following a brilliant career, Mr. Lacasa has been appointed Executive President of UFINET, expanding his areas of responsibility.
Juan Carlos Naranjo
Chief Operating Officer
Juan Carlos Naranjo is an Electronic Engineer, graduated from Universidad del Valle in Colombia. He also holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of the ICESI Institute. Mr. Naranjo joined UFINET in 2002 and served as Technical Director for Latin America since 2014. Previously he worked as Maintenance Manager in Colombia and Engineering Manager in Colombia where he was responsible for the development of the UFINET network and quality achievements in Latin America, having to orchestrate an experienced, multicultural and interdisciplinary technical team. Recently, in 2024, he was appointed Chief Operation Officer, assuming responsibility for the commercial area.
Robinson Gutierrez
Chief Technical officer
Robinson Gutiérrez is an Electronic Engineer, graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia with specialization in project management, PMP certification, business strategy and Master in Business Administration. Mr. Gutierrez is part of the Ufinet team since 2017, holding the position of Operations Manager at Ufinet Colombia and from 2019 as CTO of Ufinet Panama, in addition to his track record of more than 18 years of experience in technical management positions with different fiber optic service providers in Colombia.
As of 2024, he assumes the position of Chief Technical officer of the entire Ufinet operation, responsible for the development and quality of the network in Latin America, leading Ufinet’s specialized technical team.
Pablo Pérez-Bedmar
Chief Business Development Officer
Pablo Pérez-Bedmar Delgado holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Mr. Pérez-Bedmar has led UFINET’s Business Development management since the end of 2014; he defines and develops new business lines and leads company-wide M&A processes in order to bring greater value and growth for UFINET. He started his career in UFINET more than 20 years ago, holding relevant positions in Network Development and Business Operations, and later as Country Manager for Colombia. All this experience has provided him with a valuable global vision of the operations and business of both Spain and LATAM.
Antonio Molina
Chief Financial Officer
Antonio Molina Franquelo holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from CUNEF. Antonio joined Ufinet as Chief Financial Officer in 2022. Previously, Antonio worked for more than 20 years in Investment Banking, of which about 5 years at Goldman Sachs in London and about 15 years at Natixis Partners in Madrid, as Managing Director and Partner. As part of his extensive M&A experience, Antonio has been involved in over 30 completed transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $65bn, including advising Cinven in connection with its stake in Ufinet over the years.
Álvaro de Pablo
Chief Administrative Officer
Álvaro de Pablo González holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from the University of Navarra and an MBA from IESE Business School. He joined Ufinet as Chief Administrative Officer after advising Cinven on the sale of the Company in 2018. Previously, Alvaro worked for 10 years as an investment banker at Natixis Partners and Barclays, in Madrid and New York, advising clients in Spain and Latin America, respectively, on a wide range of transactions (acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, valuations / fairness opinions and LBOs) and industries (including Oil & Gas, Power, Infrastructure, Telecom, Industrials and Pharma).

William Aldana
Country Manager Ufinet Guatemala
William Aldana is a Systems Engineer graduated from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala, holds an MBA from INCAE Business School and a Program for Leadership Development from IESE Business School. Mr. In 2004, Aldana was Country Manager of a company in which Ufinet had a stake in Nicaragua, in 2010 he was responsible for opening Ufinet’s operations in Costa Rica and since 2011 he has been Country Manager of Ufinet in Guatemala. Its main achievements have been business development, which has been the driving force behind Ufinet’s expansion into new markets in Central America, Belize and Southern Mexico. As head of Guatemala, the company has boosted sales of telecommunications services, achieving significant growth in revenues and development of the fiber optic network.
Álvaro Britto
Country Manager Ufinet Brazil
Álvaro Britto, joined UFINET in 2019 and currently serves as Country Manager for Brazil.
Prior to joining UFINET, Álvaro served as Director of Product and Strategy at Netell, where in 2019 he advised the company on the sale to UFINET, which marked the company’s entry into the Brazilian market.
Prior to his position at UFINET/Netell, Alvaro was a consultant at Zenzu, as part of his telecom and data center consulting skills.
While at Zenzu, he advised investment firms on potential M&A opportunities in the co-location and telecommunications markets in the Americas, Europe and Africa; service providers on business models and product and service offerings; as well as clients with data center and telecommunications service requirements in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Alvaro also served as Business Development Manager for London-based International Data Centre Group, a co-location service provider operating through a global alliance of independent data center operators.
Alvaro began his career at Morgan Stanley, before attending the London School of Economics to obtain an MSc in Economic History.
He also holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and Philosophy from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.
Ruby Castellanos
Country Manager Ufinet Argentina and Chile
Ruby Castellanos Castillo is an Electrical Engineer from Universidad Autónoma de Occidente in Cali, Colombia, Master in IT and Telecommunications Management and Specialist in Networks and Communications from Universidad ICESI in Cali. Ms. Castellanos has worked at Ufinet since 2002; during her professional career she has been responsible for the Operation and Maintenance area in the Pacific region of Colombia, leading the telecommunications outsourcing for Empresa de Energía del Pacífico. In 2014, he held the position of Business Development Manager Latam, actively participating in the development of strategic projects that have contributed to the expansion and growth of Ufinet in the region. Recently, Ruby has been promoted as Country Manager for Chile and Argentina in order to extend Ufinet’s successful model in these geographies.
Sergio Davila
Country Manager Ufinet El Salvador
Sergio Dávila joined Ufinet in 2021 as Commercial Manager in El Salvador and since January 2023 he has been Country Manager. During this period, he has led the team in this country in the stage of major expansion of both business and infrastructure, growing the client base and the services provided.
Sergio graduated as an electronic engineer from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and later completed his MBA at ADEN, Argentina and Universidad Francisco Vitoria, Spain. His experience in the telecommunications field spans more than 30 years, starting with the then state-owned Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Guatemala, Guatel, and later forming part of the start-up team of Telefónica in Guatemala and its expansion throughout Central America, and then moving on to Ericsson. The last 10 years before joining Ufinet, he returned to the Telefónica group to the International Wholesale Services unit, where he excelled in the development of the Wholesale Telecommunications market in the Central America and Caribbean region, supporting the development of broadband in the region. His long career has enabled him to make key contributions in a variety of roles including network planning and engineering, service development, marketing, project management, business development, sales and country management.
Ricardo Juarez
Country Manager Ufinet Nicaragua
José Rodrigo Ricardo Juárez Cordero, Electronic Engineer with a major in telecommunications, graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI) of Nicaragua, and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management with a mention in Marketing and Finance from the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) of Nicaragua. Eng. Juarez Cordero, currently holds the position of Country Manager of UFINET Nicaragua (2003), was recently appointed vice president of the most important ICT chamber in Nicaragua (Internet Association of Nicaragua -AIN), since 1996 to date he has worked in key positions as head of networks and telecommunications of the corporations Union Fenosa and Gas Natural Fenosa in Nicaragua. One of the main results and objectives of his career has been to develop the growth of UFINET’s operation in Nicaragua since its inception.
Eduardo Palacios
Country Manager Ufinet Costa Rica
Eduardo Palacios Gutiérrez is an Industrial Engineer with a major in Industrial Organization from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and holds a Master’s degree in Global Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, graduated “cum laude” and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from EADA -Escuela de Alta Dirección y Administración- in Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Palacios joined UFINET in 2000 in the Commercial Department, and later held the position of Country Manager in Guatemala for more than 5 years and the position of Country Manager in Costa Rica since the creation of the company in 2010. In parallel, he plays an active role in the development of the Costa Rican telecommunications industry, having been coordinator of the Broadband Commission of the Chamber of Infocommunication and Technology (INFOCOM) and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Chamber.
Leonel Quan
Country Manager Ufinet Honduras
Oscar Leonel Quan Lou is a Civil Engineer graduated from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, and holds a Master’s degree in Administration from Universidad Rafael Landívar, Guatemala. Mr. Quan Lou has served as General Manager of Ufinet Honduras since February 2014. Previously served as General Manager of Alliance, a joint venture in Nicaragua from February 2008 to February 2014. He has worked in the telecommunications industry since 1998. Previously held management positions at IBM Guatemala and Xerox Guatemala.
José Quintas
Country Manager Ufinet Panama
José Andrés Quintas García is a Telecommunications Engineer graduated from the School of Telecommunications Engineers of Vigo and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Business School //Afundación. With more than 15 years of experience in companies related to UFINET, at the beginning of 2006 he moved to Panama as Country Manager of the Company, where he was an important part of the exponential development of the company’s growth, both in Panama and throughout Central America, with the deployment of fiber optic network in Panama and the development of important Data Capacity Networks.
Carlos Riego
Country Manager Ufinet Peru
Carlos Riego Martínez holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Valladolid. Mr. Carlos Riego joined UFINET at the end of 2005, at the Spanish headquarters, in the Operation and Maintenance department. Between 2008 and 2014, he held various positions of responsibility in the technical area, first as head of the Technical Office, and later as head of Network Operations. From 2014 he took on the challenge of leading UFINET’s NOC for the EMEA region, also playing a key role in cross-cutting projects for the company, such as Network and Services Inventory. Since 2016, he has held the position of Country Manager for Ecuador, with the objective of replicating UFINET’s successful model in the rest of the region’s geographies.
Ivan Sanchez
Country Manager Ufinet Colombia
Iván Sánchez Medina is an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer graduated from Universidad del Cauca and holds a Master’s degree in Telematics from the same university. Additionally, he is a PhD candidate in Spanish Literature and Linguistics at the University of Kentucky. Mr. Sánchez Medina has served as General Manager of UFINET Colombia since 2014, having previously held management positions in companies in the Telecommunications sector for the CALA Region (Caribbean and Latin America), as well as for Colombia. He has also worked for the Colombian government, serving as Commissioner of the Colombian Communications Regulatory Commission from 2010-2013, and has been a university professor for the Universities of Cauca and Distrital in Colombia and the University of Kentucky in the USA, among others.
Mario Silvestre
Country Manager Ufinet Ecuador
Mario Silvestre is an electronic engineer with a degree from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala and a master’s degree in project evaluation and formulation from the same institute. He is also a candidate for the Executive Master’s Degree in Business Analytics at INCAE Business School. Mr. Silvestre joined UFINET Guatemala in 2006 as Operations and Maintenance Engineer. In 2010, he moved to Costa Rica as Network Development Manager to expand the new operation in the country. In 2015, Mario was promoted to Technical Director of Costa Rica and in 2017 he was promoted to Regional Technical Director in charge of Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Mr. Silvestre was recently promoted as Country Manager for Ecuador to continue the successful UFINET model in the country.
Alejandro Vargas
Country Manager Paraguay
Alejandro Vargas holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Colombia. He also holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidad EAN in the same country.
Mr. Vargas joined Ufinet in 2017 as Commercial Director for Argentina-Chile-Paraguay and “Head of Global Partner Program”, responsible for sales and revenue growth in Latin America leading multicultural sales teams. In 2022, he was appointed Country Manager for Paraguay, a position he currently holds.
Prior to joining Ufinet and since the beginning of his career in 1999, he held leadership and commercial management positions in important Telecommunications and Consumer Electronics companies, with an intense exposure to the Global Wholesale Telecommunications Market, working for companies such as Telefónica, ETB, Orbitel (Une EPM), Samsung and Motorola.
Marco Villascan
Country Manager Ufinet Mexico
Marco Villascan holds a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. Marco has more than 40 years of experience in this industry in Mexico and has a high technical-commercial profile. He is also a graduate of the Senior Management D1 program and the Senior Management in Innovation and Technology – ADIT program at IPADE (Instituto Panamericano en Alta Dirección). He also holds a diploma in Marketing and Telecommunications from ITESM. Mr. Villascan has extensive experience in important areas such as the commercial market, solution design and customer service. He has also held important positions as Engineering and Operations Manager for several companies. He has held the position of Country Manager for Ufinet since April 2017, where he plans to grow UFINET in such a competitive market as Mexico.
Alejandro Coyoy
Chief Commercial Officer
Alejandro Coyoy is an engineer in Electronics, Informatics and Computer Science, graduated from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala. He holds a Master’s degree in Operations Research from the same Universidad Francisco Marroquín, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas, INCAE Business School. Mr. Coyoy has served as Commercial Director for Latin America since 2014, and due to his high-level technical and commercial projection, he previously collaborated in several countries in different functional areas since 2002. He is the main responsible for achieving the required commercial results for the company in Latin America, having to orchestrate an experienced commercial team, quite multicultural and interdisciplinary, as well as to adequately project the company’s image and brand within the ICT market.
